From the outset, investment in company-owned quarries has been a strategic decision, ensuring quality, consistency, and operational independence.

Three quarries, four stone varieties

Transgranitos’ processing capacity is supported by a strong extraction capability.

Four granite quarries are currently in continuous operation, supplying the Branco Micaela, Branco Real, Amarelo Real, and Cinza Penalva varieties, four granites with distinct characteristics, united by the same geological origin in northern Portugal.

Branco Micaela stands out for its fine and uniform texture, Branco Real for its light and elegant tone, Amarelo Real for its warm color and versatility, and Cinza Penalva for its strength and the subtle bluish nuance of its tone.

With reserves estimated to last several decades, these quarries provide Transgranitos not only with controlled-quality raw material, but also with long-term supply reliability, a key factor in meeting the demands of large-scale projects.

Technical precision

Investment in modern technology and advanced cutting methods, such as diamond wire cutting and hydraulic drilling with water injection, allows operations to be carried out with greater safety, efficiency, and care for the surrounding environment.

The extraction of blocks weighing up to 30 tons is performed with high technical rigor, preserving the integrity of the stone while minimizing environmental impact.

The combined output of the quarries reaches 1,000 cubic meters of blocks per month, a capacity that reflects not only scale, but above all structured organization, planning, and technical consistency.

Safety and sustainability

Over time, Transgranitos has progressively reduced the use of explosives, replacing traditional methods with cleaner and quieter cutting technologies.

By eliminating manual drilling through the adoption of hydraulic drilling systems, dust emissions and the risk of silica inhalation are reduced, protecting both the environment and workers.
